Pure white and innocent
lying on the ice
he's only experienced
a few days of life
Helpless little baby
unable yet to swim
no way to escape
as the hunter clubs him
Beaten without mercy
the seal's blood stains the ice
without checking if he's conscious
into his skin they slice
Murdered so cruelly
just for his pelt
he needed his skin
more than anyone else!

Each year harp and hooded seals perform their annual migration to the east coast of Canada to give birth to their pups.
The ice floes are transformed into a magical nursery; the only sounds the soft cries of the newborn seal pups.
It is one of the greatest wildlife spectacles in the world but, just days later, the peace of the ice is shattered as sealers club and shoot to death hundreds of thousands of baby seals for their skins.
